THE BRONX - An anonymous guardian angel has come forward to help save a Bronx Catholic school from shutting down for good.

Our Lady of Angels in Kingsbridge received a $100,000 donation as students, staff and alumni worked tirelessly to raise enough money to keep classes in session. They say the goal is to reach $900,000.

The Kingsbridge institution is among the schools placed on the chopping block by the Archdiocese of New York as part of its Pathways to Excellence Program. The Archdiocese says the decision is contingent on a range of factors, including enrollment and finances.
