AP Sources: Prosecutors likely to drop Strauss-Kahn case

NEW YORK - Prosecutors may be dropping the sexual assault case against former International Monetary Fund leader Dominique Strauss-Kahn today, according to Associated Press sources.

Nafissatou Diallo, 32, accused Strauss-Kahn of sexual assault on May 14 at New York's Sofitel Hotel, where she worked as a maid. He was arrested and resigned as head of the IMF a few days later.

Strauss-Kahn was freed from house arrest last month afterprosecutors said publicly that they had discovered facts that castdoubt on his accuser's credibility.

Even if the charges are dismissed, Strauss-Kahn faces a civil suit filed by Diallo two weeks ago.
