Armed robbery has Bronx shoppers on edge

THE BRONX - An armed robbery at a Bronx clothing store has shoppers and employees on edge.

According to police, a man showed a gun and took more than $500 from a cash register at the Ashley Stewart shop on 3rd Avenue Sunday night. Store managers say they've hired a security guard in an effort to make the shop safer.

Security guards from other stores on the block say people try to rob them all the time and the incident isn't going to change the way they do business.

Sources say the suspect was wearing all black, a wool cap, rubber gloves and a ski mask.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
