Arrest made in 92-year-old's shooting death

THE BRONX - (AP) - A Bronx man has been arrested in the stray-bullet death of a 92-year-old woman.

Sadie Mitchell was fatally wounded Tuesday when a slug fired on the street crashed through her first-floor window. She died at the hospital later that day.

Police officials say their investigation led them to an 18-year-old suspect, Jamal Blair. They say he lived about 11 blocks from the woman.

He faces charges of second-degree murder and weapons possession.

Blair was in custody Thursday. It wasn't immediately clear whether he had a lawyer.
