THE BRONX - Police arrested a 23-year-old man in Brooklyn Tuesday in connection with the murder of a teenager in Mott Haven over the weekend.

Darrell Spencer is accused of killing 17-year-old Jamia Hazel and dumping her dismembered body on Walton Avenue, where he lives with his mother and sister.

Cynthia Marshall, Hazel's foster mother, says the teen was a runaway who had been living with her for only a short time before taking off again. Marshall says she doesn't know how Hazel ended up in the Bronx.

Spencer is charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
