THE BRONX - A local politician is demanding changes to what he calls dangerous street curbs in Kingsbridge.

Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz says some curb cuts, which is the part of the sidewalk that dips into the crosswalk, are raised, making it difficult for the disabled and mothers walking with strollers to cross the street.

Dinowitz reached out to the Department of Transportation three years ago about fixing the problems. He says that after initially agreeing to make repairs, the DOT sent a letter saying that the curbs in question are fine.

The DOT told News 12 that it will continue to investigate.
