THE BRONX - State Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz is calling on the city to bring more safety measures to a busy Bronx stretch that has seen its fair share of collisions.

West 230th Street in Kingsbridge is often congested, with blaring car horns filling the street with noise.

Last year alone, there were 130 crashes along the corridor of Bailey and Riverdale avenues. While that span is less than a mile long, it is traveled by many as a way in and out of the Major Deegan Expressway.

Dinowitz has called on the city's Department of Transportation to step in and conduct a study of the area.

News 12 reached out to the DOT, but did not hear back.
