Authorities conduct drill at transit hubs

THE BRONX - Commuters across the city may have seen extra authorities at New York City transit hubs Wednesday as part of a drill.

Officers from the New York Police Department, Amtrak police, army cadets and other agencies are taking part in the security drill, known as a "surge."

The drill was conducted at Pennsylvania Station, Herald Square Station and Grand Central Station. The exercise was scheduled before the subway bombings occurred this week in Moscow.
