Auto shop workers mowed down on Jerome Avenue

THE BRONX - Two auto body shop workers are recovering after being mowed down by a prospective customer on Jerome Avenue.

Witnesses say the men were working when someone pulled into the driveway asking about repair work. One of the employees instructed the driver to back out, but he accidentally put the gear in drive instead of reverse.

One man was sent flying and the other was pinned at the hip by the car. Both were taken to Lincoln Medical Center and are expected to be OK.
