THE BRONX - October is breast cancer awareness month and Bronx residents have been walking for the cause.

Dozens of people walked along Bainbridge Avenue for the special walk to raise awareness. This is the first walk organized by the Bainbridge Avenue Day Rehabilitation Program.

Organizers say they wanted to hold the event to show how walking for as little as once a day can greatly reduce the risk of developing breast cancer.
