THE BRONX - Business owners in Baychester are taking the first steps toward rebuilding after a car smashed through their storefronts.

A driver lost control and rammed her SUV into four shops on Boston Road Monday night, sending two pedestrians to Jacobi Medical Center with minor injuries.

Two other people were treated at the scene, and the driver was taken for observation.

The affected owners have hired contractors to assess the damage, which left their stores with vacate signs and boarded up windows.
