BAYCHESTER - Residents in Baychester say they are demanding a hazardous catch basin be repaired to prevent serious injury. Neighbors along Gunther Avenue say the basin, across the street from a school, has a hole nearly 5 feet wide. They say the opening has been exposed for months and is putting the community at risk. News 12 The Bronx tried to contact the Department of Environmental Protection, whose officials say they are looking into the matter.
