THE BRONX - Some Belmont drivers say parking in their own neighborhood has become a daily risk.

According to residents, cars parked along Southern Boulevard, between East 187th Street and Fordham Road, are being targeted by vandals who for months have shattered windows and stolen property.

Neighbors say that the damaged cars are usually parked along the Bronx Zoo side of the street where trees and a lack of homes make the area darker.

Drivers also complain that police have done nothing to help with the break-ins.
