THE BRONX - A new math app designed by Bronx middle schoolers is now available for Android devices.

Last year, six students from the Bronx Academy of Promise won a national app competition, which has now been released. The app, Quest Math, combines math problems with Greek mythology.

The students worked with a developer from MIT to design the app, which also features original artwork drawn by the students themselves. Catherine Jackvony, the school's principal, says introducing technology to the school's math classes helped transform the charter school, which was once on the brink of closure.

The app is free and available on Verizon’s app store.
