THE BRONX - One Bronx man is keeping his neighborhood clean by doing what he calls "the right thing for the area."

Several times a week, John Provetto arms himself with a tool used to pick up trash and a bucket of paint to cover up graffiti on road signs, fire call boxes and guard rails.

Thanks to Provetto, graffiti and litter have met their match near Layton and Fairfax avenues.

Provetto, currently retired from the MTA, says he can devote more time to cleaning up his neighborhood and is considering expanding his territory.
