THE BRONX - A Bronx professor of nursing says she has lost 30 pounds and has a much healthier heart after participating in a challenge set by Woman’s Day magazine.

Deborah Hunt, who has her doctorate and is currently writing her second book, was one of six women chosen in the magazine’s Live Longer and Strong challenge. She was tasked to lose weight, lower her risk for heart disease and change unhealthy habits. Hunt says it’s her biggest accomplishment yet.

“You can really do anything you want if you really want it bad enough,” Hunt told News 12. “You put your mind to it and you make a plan."

The challenge was designed to bring attention to heart disease, which remains the No. 1 killer of men and women in the United States.
