THE BRONX - Students from the New York Institute for Special Education held their own version of the Winter Olympics Thursday afternoon.

The developmentally disabled children have been preparing for months to show off their gold medal-worthy abilities.

Teachers say the winter activities help boost their motor skills.

The New York Institute for Special Education has held the event for past 11 years.
