Big East football championship may be headed to The Bronx

New York Yankees President Randy Levine has told Mayor Michael Bloomberg that he wants to host the newly proposed Big East football championship right here

THE BRONX - New York Yankees President Randy Levine has told Mayor Michael Bloomberg that he wants to host the newly proposed Big East football championship right here in The Bronx.

Big East Commissioner John Marinatto has said he wants to add a championship game once the league expands to 12 members.

Yankee Stadium will be hosting a game next month between Big East member Rutgers University and the U.S. Military Academy.
