THE BRONX - A street sign that was put up last week to honor a deceased Bronx rapper has been taken down.

Some residents wanted to rename the 163rd Street and Rogers Place intersection "Big Pun Place" after the Bronx rapper who died 14 years ago.

Fans had put up an unofficial street sign, but News 12 revisited the area today and learned that the sign has been taken down.

In order for residents to officially rename the intersection, they must get the approval of the City Council.
