THE BRONX - A bill of rights was signed into law today for domestic workers across the city after years of fighting. The law, which was signed by Gov. David Paterson (D-N.Y.), guarantees domestic workers basic rights including eight hours as legal day?s work and one day of rest in each calendar week. It also covers domestic workers for temporary disability benefits.

The new law takes effect in 90 days.
