Bitter cold dips into business profits

Some Bronx merchants are complaining that freezing temperatures are taking a toll on their bottom line. At Bedford Cafe and Restaurant, owner Michael Koufalis says

THE BRONX - Some Bronx merchants are complaining that freezing temperatures are taking a toll on their bottom line.

At Bedford Cafe and Restaurant, owner Michael Koufalis says it's been a slow week. He assumes everyone is staying off the streets and at home as much as possible to keep warm.

Others think the cold weather has actually been good for business. Full service gas station attendants say they've been busy and are raking in tips because no one wants to get out of their cars to pump gas.
