Bitter cold temps blast the Bronx

HUNTS POINT - Bitter cold temperatures blasted the borough Friday, just 10 days before the official start of winter.

The temperatures dipped into the mid- to upper-20s, but with the wind chill, it felt like it was in the single-digits. Residents bundled up to brave the weather. Some even said they are tired of the cold, even though winter hasn't started yet.

Even though most hate the cold, the workers at Fordham Supply say they love it because it brings in customers. They say they hope the freezing temperatures will bring people out to buy space heaters, as well as salt and shovels to prepare for the snow.
