Blind Bronx girl gears up for Braille Challenge

THE BRONX - A blind student from The Bronx is gearing up for the Braille Challenge.

Jessica Karim, a seventh-grader, will compete in braille speed and accuracy, reading comprehension, proofreading and charts and graphs. She'll be joined by 15 other students from her school, as well as hundreds of others from around the region.

The competition will take place tomorrow on Long Island. Top students will advance to the national competition in Los Angeles this June.
