Bloomberg: City may lay off as many as 21,000 teachers

THE BRONX - Mayor Bloomberg announced on Sunday that the state might layoff more teachers then initially expected after finding out Gov. Cuomo's budget this Tuesday.

Bloomberg was already planning on letting go 6,000 teachers to balance the city's budget but it might reach as much as 21,000. That number depends on the budget set forth by Cuomo this Tuesday.

The mayor also says that the cuts will have to be performed under the "Last Hired, First Fired" policy.
