Bloomberg: Drivers should be shamed out of speeding

After state lawmakers put the brakes on Mayor Michael Bloomberg's plan to install speed cameras around the city, the mayor came up with another idea

THE BRONX - After state lawmakers put the brakes on Mayor Michael Bloomberg's plan to install speed cameras around the city, the mayor came up with another idea to slow down speeders: public shame.

Bloomberg said on his weekly radio address that he wants to post the names, pictures and license plate numbers of drivers caught speeding in a public place so that everyone can see who they are.

The mayor has not said exactly what public forum the city would use to shame people with a heavy foot.
