NEW YORK - Mayor Michael Bloomberg honored a joint police and fire rescue team that traveled to Haiti to help with relief efforts.

In a tribute at the City Hall ceremony, Bloomberg thanked the officers and firefighters for their "selfless and heroic service in Haiti."

Members of the rescue team received certificates saying that they represent "the very best" of the city's "spirit of compassion and community."
