Book opens on new school in Hunts Point

HUNTS POINT - The first new school building constructed in 30 years in Hunts Point opened its doors today.

The building will house the Hyde Leadership Charter School and will educate up to 1,000 students between kindergarten and 12th grade, with about 300 high school students.

"Having a space that's beautiful and clean is something that really feels like a luxury, but shouldn't for our students and families," says Celia Sosa, the head of the school.
