GRAVESEND - Borough President Eric Adams launched a multilingual outreach program Friday for child abuse education.

The launch comes just days after 3-year-old Jaydon Jordan was found badly beaten with a brain injury. Salvatore Lucchese, 24, was indicted Wednesday on charges of assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

Investigators say Lucchese told them he was giving his girlfriend's son, Jaydon Jordon, a bath when the toddler hit his head and fell down.

Jaydon remains in the hospital with a lacerated liver, an injury doctors say is consistent with a blow or punch to the stomach. Doctors says the boy also sustained a brain injury likely due to shaking, choking or suffocation.

Standing alongside advocates of child abuse survivors in Borough Hall, Adams said Operation Care, or Child Response and Engagement, will use PowerPoint presentations in community organizations to help residents identify and report the signs of child abuse.

They include absences from school, eating disorders and poor hygiene.
