Botanical Garden features new Caribbean exhibit

THE BRONX - Bronx residents can now get away from their winter blues without leaving the borough.

A new Caribbean Garden exhibit has opened at the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx. The display features tropical plants, including pineapples and papayas.

Director of Exhibitions Karen Daubmann said the exhibit allows visitors to enjoy exotic plant life while staying close to home. "You can come here from a break from the cold and just stroll," she said.

The garden also features huge Ponderosa lemon trees and ice cream bean trees.

Tickets to the Botanical Garden are half off until Feb. 27.
