Bronx analysts eye Obama's plan to ease shaky job market

THE BRONX - All ears in the Bronx are on President Obama's speech tonight.

Although the Bronx had the lowest unemployment rate in the state, there still needs to be improvement. The president is going to deliver his State of the Union address, which is expected to focus on jobs.

Marlene Cintron, who is with the Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation, says she would like to see the president support the small business administration in its efforts to bring jobs into our market. She says she also hopes President Obama keeps interest on loans for businesses at a low.

Cintron adds that with a high number of health care workers in the Bronx, she would hope the president sustains Medicare and Medicaid. In addition, she wants Obama to stick with this health care reform.
