Bronx Arts Ensemble performs annual concert series

THE BRONX - Some residents celebrated the Memorial Day weekend with the Bronx Arts Ensemble.  

The annual free concert series took place in Van Cortlandt Park.

The Memorial Day Tent Concert was put on with the help of Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz. It featured some of the borough's best musicians, including trumpeter Angela Gosse and trombonist Papo Vazquez.

The ensemble is under the direction of David Gilbert.

The band performed classics and contemporary pieces that celebrate the nation's pride for the brave service men and woman who made the ultimate sacrifice.

The ensemble is also kicking off a free weekend concert series starting July 4 weekend at the Rockwood Circle.
