THE BRONX - A Bronx-based company is making life a little easier for inmates and their families.

Send a Package founder Chris Barrett says his goal became helping people send packages to inmates after realizing how difficult it was for him to send his own brother a package.

"We're New York's inmate superstore because we sell everything that an inmate could have," said Barrett.

The website has everything from Starbucks coffee to a cassette player. All of the items fit the strict prison gift guidelines, which customers say can be difficult to understand.

Send a Package has a deal with Universal Records, which now makes cassette tapes exclusively for the company because prisons don't allow CDs. The company has been open for three years, and delivers to all 58 New York state prisons.

They plan to go national this year.
