THE BRONX - With temperatures feeling close to 100 degrees Wednesday, hundreds of Bronx residents headed to the beach.

Beachgoers at Orchard Beach were out soaking up the sun, but many complained of the temperature of the sand.

A heat advisory is in effect until 8 p.m. Thursday.

Late morning showers and afternoon thunderstorms are also expected Thursday.
