(08/09/10) THE BRONX - Bishop Angelo M. Rosario, of the Church of God's Children, is taking to the streets to fight violence in the Bronx.

He says it?s time for the violence to stop after Lexxi Abreu, 16, Demetrius Jones, 19, and Luis Soto, 22, were killed in three separate shootings this weekend.

Rosario is in charge of The Bronx Clergy Task Force and has been recognized by the city for his outreach efforts. He says his fight will include education and job-training programs at four different churches across the Bronx. He thinks the programs will take people off the streets and away from guns. The programs are scheduled to begin in September.

The weekend murders bring this year?s murder count up to 76 in the Bronx.
