THE BRONX - A Bronx-born athlete is among three swimmers of African-American descent who are bringing diversity to the U.S. Olympic team.

Cullen Jones, who is a 2008 Olympic gold medalist, is part of a team that is competing with more than one African-American athlete for the first time in history.

Jones says he hopes to teach other minority kids to swim through USA Swimming Foundation's Make-a-Splash program.

Brooklyn native Lia Neal, 17, is also just the second African-American woman ever to swim for team USA.
