THE BRONX - Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. delivered his State of the Borough address, outlining the key issues he wants to tackle this year.

Speaking to a full auditorium at James Monroe High School, Diaz announced plans for a gun registry that would have a reporting requirement similar to a sex offender registry. He says anyone who commits a crime using a gun would be placed in a public online database.

The borough president also touted some of his accomplishments over the past year, including $1.5 billion in new investments and thousands of new jobs for The Bronx.
