THE BRONX - Two Bronx choirs battled other singing groups from across the state today for a chance to win a $2,500 grant for their schools.

The competition, hosted by the Wildlife Preservation Society and the Hard Rock Café, judges school choirs on songs about the environment. Both the St. Barnabas all-girls choir and the Celia Cruz Bronx High School sang for a spot in the finals.

After today's performances, the Celia Cruz choir will advance to tomorrow's finals. The school that wins will receive the grant and a chance to sing at the Hard Rock Café in Times Square.
