Bronx church embroiled in Constitutional debate

THE BRONX - A Bronx church is entangled in a fight that could be heading to the highest court in the land.

The Bronx Household of Faith, which has been holding services each Sunday at P.S. 15 while its new building is renovated, is facing a ruling by the Second U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals that deemed the arrangement a violation of the principle of separating church from state.

Lawyers for the church are appealing to the U.S. Supreme Court, arguing the government cannot choose who can or cannot use a public space based on religion.
