Bronx community boards to protest budget cuts

THE BRONX - Community board leaders in the Bronx are planning a rally to protest cuts in Mayor Michael Bloomberg?s proposed budget for 2011.

Under the proposed budget, community boards would lose $62,000 in funding. Many leaders said the cuts would force them to eliminate positions and make it difficult to serve their community.

Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. and local board leaders are gathering for the rally Monday on the steps of the Bronx Supreme Court.
