THE BRONX - Some Bronx college students bought comedy show tickets, but the joke could be on them.

According to a Bronx Community College public safety alert, Vincent Lopez and Lamont Wilson are wanted for selling tickets for a show that doesn't exist. However, a man claiming to be Lopez contacted News 12 and denies the allegations.

BCC officials say the men used a credit card skimmer to steal money, but Lopez says that he has a card reader on his phone that’s completely legal, and that he plans to meet with school officials to clear up the matter.

The school also released surveillance images of the duo, but Lopez says the other man is a friend who is not affiliated with the ticket sales.

A BCC spokesperson says the school is standing by its alert, but cannot provide any more information during the investigation.

News 12 reached out to Broadway Comedy Club. The man who picked up the phone says the tickets are valid and that anyone who bought one should call and make a reservation.
