THE BRONX - Bronx Congressman Jose Serrano is putting his foot down against U.S. involvement in the Syrian crisis.

Serrano says he cannot vote for war, and that his constituents are happy that he's opposing a strike against the war-torn country. He added that money needed for a Syria invasion would be better spent here at home.

President Barack Obama is meanwhile planning to meet with his strongest ally, the president of France, in pursuing action against Syria during the final day of the G-20 summit in Russia. Obama argues that action must be taken against Syria after a chemical weapons attack on civilians.

The State Department is ordering non-essential U.S. diplomats to leave Lebanon, which is bordered by Syria, due to security concerns.
