THE BRONX - A father and son from Bronx are getting ready for tomorrow's ING New York City Marathon, each in his own way.Alexander Diacou has been training for months for his first New York City Marathon. Diacou knows it won't be easy, but says he'll have a strong support group cheering him on. Diacou's father, Alec, and volunteers from Fordham University will be holding up a banner aimed at energizing runners as they reach the mile mark many call "The Wall" on 135th Street between Willis and Alexander avenues."The 20-mile mark of the race is where their bodies run out of all of their nutrients," says Alec Diacou, chairman of the non-for-profit group "Yes the Bronx." "After that, they are running on sheer guts."ING NYC Marathon
