THE BRONX - A Bronx firefighter is among a group of FDNY members being recognized this week for saving someone's life, not from flames, but from potentially fatal disorders. 

Joseph McGovern, of Engine 79, is one of 13 new inductees into the Honor Roll of Life, which recognizes firefighters who become bone marrow donors. 

The fire commissioner says the donors have created an incredible partnership between the FDNY, the New York Blood Center and the Be the Match Registry. 

There are now a total of 162 FDNY members on the honor roll list.
