VAN NEST - Three Bronx firefighters turned crime fighters were honored today for catching an alleged serial robber.

Councilman James Vacca (D-Bronx) recognized the men from Engine 90 and Ladder 41, who chased down 21-year-old Jonathan Paulino while responding to a different call Saturday night.

Firefighter Chris Magnotta was flagged down by a 19-year-old woman who had just been robbed. He jumped into action and chased Paulino toward firefighters John Hessler and Ronny Fuentes.

Paulino was held until police arrived. Officials say he was found with stolen property from the teenager, as well as a 62-year-old woman mugged earlier that day.
