Bronx heart transplant recipient to participate in Rose Parade

Thirteen years ago, Bronx resident Donald Arthur received the gift of a new heart and now he is set to participate in California's Rose Parade

THE BRONX - Thirteen years ago, Bronx resident Donald Arthur received the gift of a new heart and now he is set to participate in California's Rose Parade along with other transplant recipients.

Arthur is taking part in tomorrow's parade to promote awareness of organ and tissue donation so that others can have the second chance that he did.

Fifteen months after the operation, he ran in his first marathon and as of today, has run in 40 different marathons.

He says his goal is to run in a marathon in every state to help promote organ and tissue donation.
