THE BRONX - A Bronx principal is stepping down amid an ongoing investigation into student hazing.

According to the New York Times, Valerie Reidy will finish out the year at the Bronx High School of Science, but won’t return in the fall.

Reidy told the newspaper that it was simply time to retire, and insisted that she wasn't pressured into leaving.

The school was thrown into the spotlight back in March after three students were arrested for the alleged hazing of a fellow track team member.
