THE BRONX - Little League teams in the Bronx are celebrating opening day Saturday.

The City Island Little League kicked off its season with a number of teams, like the American Legion team taking the field at Ambrosini Field.

State Sen. Jeffrey Klein threw out the ceremonial first pitch.

The season finishes off in June, when the top two City Island teams will battle it out for the championship.
