Bronx man charged in death of 5-year-old son

TREMONT - A Bronx man is facing murder charges in the death of his 5-year-old son. According to police, 47-year-old Leonardo Espinal was arrested Thursday night after his son, Stewart Espinal, was found unconscious and unresponsive early Wednesday morning. Authorities say Espinal admitted to poisoning pizza, which he fed to at least one of his children. His other child, a 7-year-old daughter, is still at Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan, where she was taken after the incident. Neighbors say Espinal split with his wife two weeks ago and had the children for the day. Officials say it is unclear whether the boy was also poisoned. Investigators have yet to release a cause of death.
