THE BRONX - Some local motorcycle and auto clubs are differentiating themselves from illegal dirt bike riding.

Members of several Bronx groups, such as the Ruff Ryders, want to make sure people know that they make a commitment to ride their motorcycles and drive their cars legally. They say there's no association with dirt bike riders who break the law, and who have received a lot of backlash in the wake of recent accidents and court cases.

Surveillance video caught a group of dirt bike riders speeding through the streets Sunday as one of them struck and critically injured an elderly pedestrian. The trial against Adalberto Gonzalez also kicks off this week in connection with a fatal police-involved dirt bike accident last year.
