THE BRONX - Out-of-towners and Bronx locals will soon have a new option for an overnight stay in the borough.

The old opera house on East 149th Street will be the Opera House Hotel, featuring 61 rooms, a fitness center, conference rooms and a coffee shop. Residents says they're pleased to see economic development in the area.

The hotel owner plans to incorporate the theme of the opera house into the hotel's design scheme. It's expected to open in December.
